Commentary on his work
Moises Becerra combines
in his works a vast and profound culture, a great sensibility and an extraordinary
expressive force. The end result is a poetic interpretation of an apparently
simple humanity, but in reality it is profoundly lyrical. In the works
of Becerra flows the poetry of human existence.
- Claudia Campagnoli, Art Critic for the Italian Magazine
La Scheggia
The force of his
characters reside in a serene and balanced conscience of human dignity.
The folkloric themes of some of his works are not tourist enchantments,
but instead a reflection of simple, but authentic and genuine values of
the human being. In this sense he identifies with the simple campesino
or the humble worker, who in turn are the artistic inspiration for Becerra.
His artistic language uses simple images to compose a more complex meaning.
