Delmer Mejía

Born in 1954 in Copán, Honduras. Upon graduating from the National Fine Arts School in 1975, he has dedicated his career to the fine arts and is currently the President of the Association of Honduran Visual Artists. Delmer Mejía is one of Honduras' most recognized artists, having won prestigious awards within Honduras and Central America. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Latin America, Asia and the United States.

Delmer has been described by César Menendez, El Salvador's most internationally recognized artist, as being able to reveal through his original thematic style and technique, a sense of the human condition which has rarely been so accurately captured by contemporary Magical Realists. Delmer's technique is refined and fluid, unfolding before the viewer like an unraveling ball of yarn. His use of fine lines and bands of colors masterfully weaves together the figures, objects and themes of his paintings.
